Research plays a critical role in many aspects of life. We all do research in our everyday lives, whether we are planning a trip and want to research the best route to take or the things to do when we get there, or want to purchase a new product and we research the products available based on price, quality and what suits our needs. From the time we enter high school and begin looking at what kind of career path we want, we are all doing research.
I do research on a daily basis as part of my job. I also share those abilities and resources to discover the history of locations that my team and I investigate. With technology being as advanced as it is, the role of a researcher is much easier. There are many, many tools available on the internet to find out information on anything from A to Z.
As much as technology is a useful tool, some of the information has to be obtained by digging through dusty record books and old archives. The information is usually always out there, it’s just a matter of finding it or communicating with someone who may have knowledge regarding it.
History is a fascinating subject and it is amazing what you can learn when you do a little research.
Remember — when you do a little research you may make a little history.
